She has also won 9 times during her collegiate years at Standford University and was ranked #1 worldwide for a period of 17 weeks. She was awarded the Mark H. McCormack medal in 2019, which was her highest-ranked amateur female at the conclusion of the season. The following year, she made the switch to professional. Andrea Lee, a former amateur golfer, is now creating her mark on the professional scene. The American LPGA Tour athlete has many surprising details that you might not have known. Andrea Lee was born on 15th August 1997 in Los Angeles. James his father, James taught her to play golf when she was five years old. In four years she won 50 junior championships. She was a finalist in the US Women's Open 2014 at Pinehurst No. aged 15 with her dad alongside her as caddie. Her sponsors arranged for her to compete in the 2015 ANA Inspiration LPGA Tour. But, she fell just one shot away from the cut. Lee competed for the USA in the Junior Ryder Cup Junior Solheim Cup Curtis Cup team, and at the Women's World Amateur Team Championship. Being the first female college pupil to enroll at Stanford University, Lee was the most decorated in Stanford's time. In the three-year period that followed she had won nine separate title. Lee quit Stanford University and turned pro in 2019. Her amateur golf career saw her stay for 17 weeks at leading the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Lee was also awarded an award in 2019: the Mark H. McCormack Medal for finishing the year as the top-ranked amateur. Lee had four hole-in-ones and one albatross as an amateur. Lee finished among Top 10 once in her debut year on the LPGA Tour. She placed 7th in the AIG Women's Open in 2020 which was held on Kingsbarns Golf Links. Lee claimed her maiden LPGA Tour win in the 2022 Portland Classic. Lee dedicated the win to her great-grandfather Min who passed away in 2012. He always called me a winner, and believe that I was a winner. She added, "I was so grateful to him. I'm sure he's still looking over me." She competed previously in soccer, figure skating and Taekwondo. In addition to golf, Lee's interests include shopping for movies, singing bowling and snowboarding.
